Antytila: The Score of War

Documentary Feature In Post-Production

A film where music shapes a war and war shapes the music. Filmed over three years with one of Ukraine's biggest rock bands. In post-production.

About

When Russia invades Ukraine in February 2022, Antytila, one of the country's most popular pop-rock bands, is at the height of their fame. As their loved ones flee to safety abroad, they quickly enlist as volunteer medics, rushing from stadium stages to frontline chaos.

In raw POV footage, we see them evacuate the wounded day after day. With their careers on hold, their country under siege, and their friends dying on the battlefield, Antytila frontman Taras Topolia and his bandmates are desperate for international support. Recording raw social media dispatches from within the war zone, they start to go viral and the online attention catapults them to high-profile collaborations with Ed Sheeran, Bono and The Edge.

After Ed invites them to perform at his concert in Warsaw, the band is thrilled when the army grants them a rare special order to leave Ukraine and play for 80,000 people. It's the biggest stage of their lives. The concert is so successful that the army formalizes Antytila's role as 'celebrity diplomats' with a mission to rally global support through music.

Taras and the band embark on a U.S. tour, where the Ukrainian diaspora rallies in packed venues, and pre-show auctions raise hundreds of thousands of dollars for the war effort. Yet as Russia continues to ravage their country, they find themselves constantly navigating the line between art and political influence.

Back home, Antytila's concerts unfold under air raid sirens, rolling blackouts, and nightly missile strikes, each performance a test of endurance in a country at war. And when a missile strike destroys their beloved Kyiv apartment, music becomes both a weapon and sanctuary, a way to keep hope alive in the face of loss.

With exclusive backstage access, frontline footage, and rare personal archives, Antytila: The Score of War explores how creativity bends under crisis, what the fight costs those who wage it, and how music becomes the last defense of a people refusing to break.
